Class Take Away 10

Today's class was very interesting. It's amazing what everyone's fear was or how they view fear. The one that stood out to me was Abbie because it related to my last project that we did. It was nice to see how someone else did that. As everyone went and presented their projects, we never came up with a legit meaning or definition of fear, simply because there isn't one. Its different or way person and how they grew up in their own lives. Another project that stood out was the one of the pencil drawing with the crayon around it. It was nice to see someone mix the different mediums and they worked very well together.

What is Fear & Why do have fear?

Fear. Defined as an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat – Google definition. To me, there are two different kinds of fear. The first being the fear that everyone experiences on a daily basis, being startled or frightened by something or someone. Something that catches you off guard and scares you. Another example of fear could be heights. A lot of people have the fear of heights, the dark, dogs, the list goes on and on. For time sake I will only list 10 – found from list verse.com
- Loosing your freedom, the unknown, pain, disappointment, misery, loneliness, ridicule, rejection, death and failure.
Other type of fear is having the fear for God. Fearing God means having such a reverence for Him that it has a great impact on the way we live our lives. The fear of God is respecting Him, obeying Him, submitting to His discipline, and worshipping Him in awe.
But why do we have fear? Are we born with it or is it a choice based on what we like and what we don’t like? We are not born with “presets” of what we like and what we don’t like. We grow to like things and dislike things based on our life experiences or until something tragic happens and based on that event, we associate something negative or a fear with that, therefore we don’t like that certain thing or something or have a fear for it.
